RESIDUAL ENERGY

This is responsible for the most common form of  hauntings, many people report their homes being haunted, although a residual haunting may hold certain characteristics of an actual haunting, there are no spirits involved.

Also known as the stonewall effect, residual energy is believed to made by the living and not the deceased. Energies of an emotion or an event can sometimes become entrapped within the fabric of a building, electromagnetic fields and ideal atmospheric conditions may be the cause of this type of phenomena.Residual hauntings can be portrayed by way of strange sounds, like footsteps or knockings, certain occassions may even see apparitional figures moving across an area then suddenly vanishing.

Of course, to someone who witnesses this type of event they will automatically assume they have a ghost, Residual energy does not interact, nor changes its pattern of events, its actions are basicly replayed over and over again like a form of tape recording, this can be an event of a person walking to the bedroom for instance, they will always continue to walk to the bedroom then disappear, you will find this will happen usually at the same time of day or night and in the same manner everytime. Ideal atmospheric conditions may cause a "photograph" of time and as stated, can replay itself over and over.

Video and audio tapes capture sounds and images on a film of special material that has been oxidized or rusted.  Certain building materials, such as slate used in older castles and stone structures and iron nails used in many older buildings, have properties similar to that of the tapes.  When a traumatic event occurs or a time of heightened emotions, these materials record the event for future playback.  Everything is made up of energy and energy cannot be destroyed.  The materials store the energy created by these traumatic events and plays them back at a later time.  The Tower of London's ghost of Anne Boleyn and the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall are two famous examples of residual hauntings.  We are not sure what causes the playback of the events, that still remains a mystery.  Is it the right weather conditions, the witness's energy or sensitivity or some type of energy release?  That is the question that we as researchers are trying to answer.

Every living person and animal emittes energy of some degree, the places we visit or encounter may be touched by our energies, emotions are a strong type of energy and this too can have effects on our surroundings.

Some of this energy may be captured in the magnetic fields without our knowledge of such and then over the years may be replayed in that same area.
